From the Sketchbook

I’m trying to figure out people. Like, not just in real life, but like sketchbook life. I pulled them art books off the shelf and printed out some ebook pages and really broke down the face.

My first attempt. The eyes, totally fucked up and the left side of the mouth…uh…wtf..right?

My second attempt. Still the balance between the eyes and the mouth. Ima have to draw a lot of mouths.

Where I’m trying to take this…is I want to do a take on Renaissance style portraits, based on religious themes. You can see by my stamp, “Mary after Before ascension.” You can also see some colored pencils my favorite gave me and this awesome eraser shield I learned about in a drafting class I took whilst in high school
